Montserrat, Food & Wine |
Another of our full day experiences, meant to give you the most out of Barcelona’s countryside through our classic formula: history and wine! This one is specially addressed at those that want to enjoy the path up to Montserrat in the most scenic way possible, or maybe to those that were enjoying some extra glasses of wine last night too! Meet a late start full day experience with the cogwheel train included up to Montserrat’s monastery, a traditional full meal at a local restaurant, and an introduction to our wine culture!
Make the most of the stunning views Montserrat has to offer by picking this late start full day tour and riding the rack railway that your Castlexperience English-speaking local guide will take you on. As part of our small groups, as always, you will reach the monastery of Montserrat by means of this impressive ride. There, and after our typical one hour long guided tour, you will get some free time (1 hour approx.) to explore the surroundings and be inspired by the visual spectacle in front of you.
Only a satisfying traditional full meal will stand between you and the winery where the other half of the tour takes place. Let your Castlexperience guide take you to this dive into the typically Spanish and Catalan wine culture. You will visit one of our daily collaborators: a family-run, low production focused traditional cellar. Experience the opportunity to explore a winery set in a 10th-century castle, maintained by the same family for 36 generations. Discover their revival of ancient local grape varieties, which provide a unique glimpse into the region’s rich heritage. There, you will get familiar with our ways in terms of wine making, and also a fun introduction to the subtleties of wine tasting.
